Indiana Amish Sand Tart Cookies RecipeThis scrumptious recipe for sand tarts (a cookie the Amish originated) has a hint of brown sugar and cinnamon – just enough to bring out a yummy complexity that will have people scrambling to know your secret ingredient! 1 ¼ cups sugar ½ cup light brown sugar 3 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 teaspoons milk ½ teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon cinnamon 3 ½ cups flour Cream sugars and butter; add eggs, milk, and vanilla until thoroughly combined. Stir in baking soda, cinnamon, and flour until mixed through. Roll dough thin and cut into desired shapes. Bake in a 375-degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
