Sydney is at the start of about three climatic zones. I don't know alot about it. I don't imagine you would get frost.
It is easy to find, half way up the East Coast. The airport I think is alot busier than Melbourne.

Sydney is famous for the 2000 olympics, the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour bridge. They also do Christmas In July up in the mountains. Not sure how far out of town that is.

Mostly, Sydney is busy! It's the fastest pace city in the country. It is also the home of the extraordinary Opera House, and the glorious Sydney Harbour. It's a one hour flight to Melbourne airport, in Victoria where Br and I live, from Sydney, or a 10 hour drive. Well worth the time lol. If it's not a rude question, may I ask what club your dh belongs to that takes him to such faraway places? edited to add - sorry Br, you already mentioned those places, anyhow her are some pics

I love that fact that you fly over Botany Bay, where Captain Cook landed in 1770 was it? I think that is special.

That would be the Pacific Ocean Michelle, being on the East Coast yourself it is harder to imagine, but for people in California they would probably be able to picture where Sydney is easier. Left of Hawaii lol.

Thank you both for the information He belongs to the ICPS...International Carnivorous Plant Society. Every 2 yrs they have an international meeting (regional chapters meet monthly), and it alternates countries. This year it was in the US (that was the show I was preparing Dave for at the beginning of this month). Two years ago it was in France. We've both always wanted to see Australia, and this may be a good time to do it because Dave is the treasurer for the New England chapter of the ICPS, and the chapter may pay for part of/all of his airfare there, and the remainder will be tax deductible since Dave will be going as a vendor for his business too. It's such a far away thing that it's nothing set in stone, but we'd love to make it a reality

It is a long flight by the time you go across country then to Sydney. Although it should be shorter than Melbourne. I think it may be a morning when you arrive.
You will lose two days Michelle.
