This is my Uncle's recipe hope you like it, Mom revised it and added nutrition labels
1 lb. hamburger 1 large onion, chopped 1 can kidney beans, drained 1 can stewed tomatoes 1 can tomato soup 1 can vegetable soup 1 can whole kernel corn, drained 1 can water, rinsing out the cans 2 T chili powder, or to your liking 2 T taco seasoning 3/4 cup salsa 18 baked tortilla chips 1 cup sour cream ½ cup grated cheese [optional]
Brown the hamburger and onion. Add to remaining ingredients in large pot and heat through. Serve over tortilla chips, top with sour cream and, if desired, grated cheese. Enjoy! Makes 6 servings.
note: To reduce the fat and sodium: Omit the ground beef, use ground turkey breast or vegetarian meat substitute Use no salt added stewed tomatoes, vegetable and tomato soup, and corn Substitute fat free sour cream and fat free cheese.
