Ok, Carolyn, those are exactly the kind of clothes I am talking about!!!! I love classic styles, now I would have to skip the penny loafers as I have horrible traumatic flash backs from my childhoold re those. My mother thought those were the only kind of shoes there were. Those and the black and white tie oxfords....lordy lordy how many pairs of those did I wear out? And then they came out with tan and red.......ummmm.....no, I think I'll stick with my leather mules.
Love those cable knit sweaters and denim. my fav. I'll have to pass on those turtlenecks, they make me feel like I am choking. If these hot flashes don't calm down, I might have to wear sleeveless tops in the dead of winter. Or streak thru the house.........nah that wouldn't work with 3 boys around........and let's just say, my dh....well, I won't go there.........so the streakin' is NOT an option.
Y'all have made my day....yep I'm a simple gal. Doesn't take much to make me happy. sending you all great big cyber hugs!!!!!!

The black & white tie shoes you are referring to are called Saddle shoes, and I too wore out my fair share of them. Do any of you have a Catherines store near you? If not then you can go to catherines.charmingshoppes.com/home.aspThey have all sorts of neat classic as well as some Hoochie mama stuff. This is just about the only place I shop for my clothes anymore mainly because, the other stores are so overpriced, I don't look right in the clothes, and they are much too revealing for me.

We thought hoochie may be hippy chic like those skirts. When I find my My Size catalogue I will describe it better.
It was those hipsters that got me into trouble with the jeans. I tried them on in the shop, the lady assured me me that they fit and then when I got home they started falling down. Then I got a size up thinking I needed it and the other two fell down as well.

We do have Catherines and I have bought some things in there, but find that their clothing is not true to size. For instance, normally I would wear a 1x in a top, but find their 1x swallows me. Same with bottoms. I did buy a really pretty black sweater set in there a couple of years back and have enjoyed wearing it. It's a great quality and is very comfortable, and washes up well.
Thanks for the tips!

Oh my goodness! LOL I missed this thread all together!.... Lynn and everyone...I too can relate on having a hard time to find clothes I love and feel comfortable in. When I do find something, I do like Heather and buy more than a pair, even if it's the same color. Lynn, I hope now, you are feeling better... ....as you can see, we're a more than a few who are in the same boat as you. (((hugs)))

My Size is nice BR, we have that here in the states. I have seen their bras and panties, but not clothing before. Oh yes, and I believe we have their panty hosiery also.
the other link has nice things as well. They do have some trendy and some traditional also. A bit more pricey but nice.
Did you find anything in either place?

I will check your links later in the day Ellise, thanks for them, they will be a good comparison.
For anyone alarmed by the prices, our dollar is quite alot different, and we found clothes to be cheap when dh went to the States. Our workers get paid $12 instead of $6 per hour so that accounts for some of it too. I would find $100 hard, but looking in my drawers yesterday, I really need to buy something!
It is interesting that My Size is in the States. We have a line that people associate with underwear called UnderCoverWear. Our neighbour invited me to a party and I did get some brown pullon trousers that I can wear with a longer top.

I ordered two plain t-shirts from My Size to keep me going. One was purple and one brown and it looks they are in the longer length, which you need if you happen to have something similar to hipster jeans on. It will get too hot for jeans after awhile. They are called Spicey Basics and on page 4, or the second or third you come to. I clicked on the lady with the green shirt.

good news! I did find a beautiful powder blue cable knit sweater this weekend in Atlanta. I also found a cashmere plum sweater, it's kinda dressy, so I'll save it for church. It'll look nice with black pants or a skirt. Did not find any denim skirts that I really like, so I guess I'll just keep looking for those.
