Hi Yvonne,
Gosh, I sure hate to say this, but I don't think this is the group you were looking for. We used to be called Simplicity Garden at Yahoo, but that was an email loop. The group transfered to proboards back in June and called ourselves Hearth and Home.
But we have a wonderful group of ladies here and would love to have you stay and be a part of it. We are small in number but big in heart and growing each day.
We have several ladies here who homeschool. And if you can tell us more about question of the day, we would love to impliment that or any other suggestions you may have.
I am Carolyn, co owner of this list along with Deed, my dear friend and LoriT, my daughter. Lori is one of the homeschoolers.
I am married for 38 years and have three grown and flown children. Lori is married, lives in south central Kentucky and her dh is newly retired from the Air Force and they just bought a small farm. Lori gave us four beautiful granchildren, Zach is 17, Ashleigh is 15, Michaela is almost 5 and LibbyAnna is 8 months old. Tami is our second daughter and she is married and lives in Texas. Mom to our sweet twins Gabriella and Aaron, who are 9, and cute Nolan who will be 5 in December.
Our only son Scott lives in Michigan and is single, and calls his cat Nixon, our grand kitty. LOL
I recently started working at a local gift shop doing displays and dressing windows and anything else they need me to do. I only work 9 hours a week for now as I haven't worked since I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus 12 years ago. I also keep books at home for two local businesses. So I keep busy.
I love having this website and keeping up with all my cyber friends. I enjoy crafting, sewing, decoratin my home, scrapbooking, gardening, and a host of other things.
We have a swap going on right now and if your interested I am sure that Lucie would fit you in. It is swapping a fall tea towel and recipe on a cute card. If your interested you can go to *Under The Quilted Cover* and sign up.
Looking forward to knowing you.
Hugs,

I remember that cold, dark night when I went searching for a group at Yahoogroups - which is getting to be nearly impossible these days - most are just excuses for spam and forwarded jokes. I found the link to this group there, but I didn't think it was called Simplicity Garden - I had done a search for "cafe + friends" and "garden + friends" and maybe for hearth and home but when I tried again a few days later I found all three of those searches useless!
I'm a member of a few email loop groups and it's probably easier for me at the moment as I am brand new to this forum - I can see pros and cons to this format but am getting used to it.
Anyway, welcome aboard, Yvonne. I think you'll find the group is a good fit - I'm newish, too - have been here about a month I guess.
I'm Elizabeth, an American living in New Zealand. Married to Alister, no kids, two grown stepkids, two spoiled kitty kids. Full time student first year, almost full time worker in the mental health field.

Interesting Beth that you are use to email loops. When we had Simplicity Garden everyone thought that email loops generated too much email. I was *raised* on email loops and actually found them easy. Glad you are getting use to our format here at a message board. We are glad your here and I can't imagine H and H without our Beth..Hugs

Ahhhhh...now I'm getting warm fuzzies. Thanks, Car. I have to say, I've tried joining other groups over the years and this one has the best shot of 'sticking' - it just felt right, right from the start. One other group I am in was my home on the net for a couple years, but has changed in character since its founding father died two years ago, and it just doesn't hold the same spot in my heart anymore. I think email loops are more 'spontaneous' - but you do have to manage the mailbox with folders directing various groups to proper places.

Ah, thanks, Melody. C'mon, c'mon, people - more compliments! More compliments! ;-) LOL Just kidding.
I ahve to admit, my email loop mailboxes are jammed full and there's just no way I'll ever empty them again - heart's no longer in it, really, though I've made friends there and don't want to totally cut the ties.
One thing I do like about this one is my ability to access it anywhere; one thing I don't particularly like is having to seek out emails as there are so many 'pigeonholes' - but, I'll get there, I'll get there.

Beth, if you can tell me what you are meaning by pigeonholes and what your actually looking for I would be happy to try to help.

This is a wild guess. I use the bookmarks system. I bookmark a thread and in my profile on the right is manage bookmarks, and then down the bottom there is another thing to click on in the next screen.
I also use the last 75 posts option at the bottom of the home page or index.

Ah, I wasn't really complaining - just saying that there are so many topics/rooms/boards/whatever (I just called 'em pigeonholes, y'know, like in an office setting where they have a big 'mailbox' full of slots/trays for various people - we call those pigeonholes). Again, not a complaint, just getting used to seeking out various places and wondering sometimes where I should be posting things!
But mostly I'm not posting a LOT because I've got exams coming up soon-ish. Just wait til mid November! Woo hoo!

I remember that group you're thinking of. My brain is still asleep right now, but let me see what I can find. I'll get back with you. Originally it belonged to a gal named Debbie Adams and then she sold it to a lady in CA. I was part of it also, but it just wasn't the same after the transfer. Let me see if I can help you. But this is an interesting place on the web too! I am enjoying reading thru the posts!
