Neat idea Denise, and so much easier to wash than baggies! Not sure about dimensions or anything yet, but I think you would have to use rip stop (?) nylon for the exterior and if it has a filler inside, I bet it is that stuff like on ironing boards, that is silver and reflects heat or cold. Can't remember the name of it now, but I have some upstairs. Looks easy enough, I'd take a piece of lightweight fabric and place a square Tupperware type storage container in the center, the size of a sandwich. This will also give you some height for the sandwich. Then start folding it like it is showing you to. You could get the dimensions that way, then cut your corners and mark where the Velcro goes. Use that piece of fabric as your pattern. Don't forget your seam allowances.

Okay duh on me, just went and read the description of them. Should have done that first huh, instead of just looking at the picture. It says they use cotton fabric on the outside and add a layer of vinyl on the inside so it can be wiped off. Good idea and much cheaper than what I said. LOL I know when you sew with vinyl though, you need some type of spray stuff to keep the presser foot from sticking to the vinyl. I'm thinking along the lines of 'graphite' but I could be wrong here. Anyone know??

So. . . Deed. . . . you gonna try to make them? Then I can just swipe your ideas?
thanks for the tips on how to start them. . . I'm not sure what I have in my stash, and I'm not wanting to spend any money right now. . . so if I have some vinyl stored somewhere, I might give them a try.

I wonder if you could use an old vinyl tablecloth? You know, vinyl side facing outward, that way you could still wipe it down. Just a thought.

LOL Denise, I might give them a try. Although I showed them to Jack and he said he wouldn't use them, they might still be good for when we go for a drive and take a picnic lunch.
I think a vinyl tablecloth would work great!
