Today a little box arrived with my bulbs in it in little brown paper bags, very cute. They are the hyacinths, freesias and ranuculus. It may be a little hot for a couple of weeks to plant them. It will be fun. Will wait until we have calmed down from our big move of our son last weekend and do a little tidying in the house etc. as well, so it won't matter.
We also have a county fair coming up.

Today we were able to get all the bulbs into the ground or into pots except the runuculus as it is too hot yet for those. Our hatchling butterflies are flying around everywhere which is so exciting.

The ranuculus are in the ground. We also have three pots of pansies. It is so hot and smoky out today so I have just come in and watered the pansies. I also put alot of black pots in garbage bags to give away tomorrow. I knew they would come in handy for some green thumb lol.

I must remember to plant the sweet pea seeds.
Today I was given about 8 or more cymbidium orchids. They are medium sized and should flower this year. I have to feed them and keep them out of the frost and keep them watered. There is one colour that originally belonged to my husband's grandfather.
I will find a link to the orchids to show you.

It is alot colder here this weekend. DH has been raking the leaves and flowers of the crepe myrtles up, hopefully we will get the sweet peas into the ground today most things should have been done in March I think.

The sweet peas were three different sizes, so that was exciting, some for the bedding as well.
Today I put a dish in an unused bird feeder and moved it across so we could see it from the kitchen. I put in some wild bird mix. We have been having great success out the front with our other bird feeder and the parrots. I really didn't think it would work.

Today our new nerines came out! The bulbs were a gift. The nerines are a hot pink, which looks good where they are with the other flowers.

Today at the end of the day, we found spots to put some newer plants. DH planted an olive tree, a buddliea and honeysuckle. I will enjoy these plants very much, two of them are perfumed.
Honeysuckle fits in with Australian gardens very well.
DH trimmed a giant salvia, and tied up all the crysanthumums. The ranuculus are up. The black birds have been digging around, but nothing seems to be amiss.

After great concern about the sweet peas, they came up and have been protected from snails, a little belatedly. The taller ones are a bit sparse, but in case they didn't come up I bought a punnet of them while I saw them in the shop, so we have heaps now.

The crysanthamums are really nice. Mostly autumn tones, one with a spot in the middle a button type. One spidery purple one.
The sunflower near the front door is cute. Nearly bought another type of bird feeder today but decided against it.
One Japanese maple has nearly lost all its leaves, it is small and was a pretty colour.
