Well, if you want to post pictures, that would be great. It seems to me that "country" is becoming a broader used term that can identify both traditional country decorating and other things like rustic, farm country, etc. I am a visual person, so I like to see and show things when I describe them.

Oh I agree Melody. Country can mean alot of things. Use to country was just country ...now it can be minimal country, like Shaker, or primitive country...etc. Use to country was lots of things ...kind of messy...collections and such. I still like that look. But I like the primitive things as well. Here tin stars are all the rage, inside and out. Do you have country decor

Thank you everyone, especially Melody for starting the thread. I went on www.homespuncountry.com.au yesterday, but it was a little plain, sorry hsc. They have ads in magazines for "the best selection of American Country Accents". The magazine was Australian Country Collections. Their website is: www.countrycollections.com.auCountry collections are more plain now, the old owner and his website were great. Some stores here sell Americana. I will have a look around the sites and tell you what I thought. I like angels like on Car's avatar and raggedys, because I read about her as a child and have recollected the books for dd11. She has a couple of real raggedys which I prefer. I have some real thanksgiving ornaments dh brought back, all pumpkin candle holders. Our hall has baltic or country pine lining up quite high. There is a wallpaper, I think from the States they had in country collections, can't remember the name offhand, really like those.

I'm still into the messy kind of one, as dh has some old collectables, not too many. I guess that is what the older magazine was like too, now they have made it more simple.
I like spools or bobbins like the ones candles are put onto. School houses, berry garlands like my avatar. And I like the red punched tin lampshade I saw on cinnamon country.
Maybe not Raggedys for myself.
I found a scarecrow, may not be suitable because it is partially green. He is hanging in our room for inspiration atm lol.

Now I see what Lodge is. I had a fad on that when we were first married because dh likes hunting, but doesn't get a chance to go these days. I thought I was past Lodge, but the moose cushion on one of those sites is too gorgeous.
The mason jars on the other site were amazing, made into liquid soap containers. I do own a few of those kind of jars.
I have a couple of duck ornaments that are not unpacked. One is blue. Also I have two pinecone collections, one is like flowers, it is a cedar (lebanese).
My friend was going to do lodge in her bathroom, she lives in the US.

I really don't have a set style per se. My bedroom is very feminine with lavender walls and flowered quilt. My living room is sponge? painted in neutral tans. It was done when we moved in, so I am not sure of the technique. What decor that's in the living room is a mix of modern and wood. The kitchen I have tried to do in wine/grapes/vineyard style. Its walls are painted the dark color thats in the 2 tones of the living room. Its an open floor plan and the rooms fall into each other, so that works.

cinamon wouldn't work for me either, but i love the other one. In fact on the "my garage sale" page, I am drooling over the table. It sounds silly, but I want a huge kitchen table like that and a more formal dining table in cherry. I dream big lol

Melody.
Your home sounds pretty. Can you post pics. I think that Ellise has the vineyard theme in her kitchen too.
So you like country, or are more modern girl?

I didn't look at the garage sale page, will have to do that. www.acountrylane.comwww.ilovecountry.com.auwww.rosemontcrest.com.auI like the wallpaper at Bairnsdale Paint n Paper, we were planning a trip their anyway. Cinnamon is at Batesford Vic., I think it is different to cinnamoncountry, it is a shame it isn't working. It specialises in American country products.
