Ok gals, as most of you have probably read by now dh is painting the laundry room today and tomorrow. I am going to do a major clean in there and see how much I can toss out.
We have a small cupboard on the wall but it doesn't hold much and it too tall on the wall for me to reach. (do home builders always think everyone is tall?)
There is a shelf in there but it is one of those vinyl coated ones that aren't very strong. So dh removed it and is putting up one short and one very long wooden shelves with nice wood brackets to make them sturdier. I purchased a set of 4 varying sizes of willow baskets done in white willow and lined in blue cloth. I am going to store all my things in those baskets.
I will come back and let you all know what I am tossing and how much.
LOL

Thanks Cheryl. You know the laundry room is such a messy, catch-all room. I bet there are two dozen mis-matched sox in there, like I am keeping them waiting for the sox fairy to return the one she stole..LOL. So many things I don't use.
A couple of antiques I am going to offer my dd. Poor dh is now trimming around the border I put up last year. LOL. I love it and didn't want to take it down. What a patient man..

LOL about the sox fairy! I have a basket on my dresser full of lonely socks. I shoud make some kind of craft out of them - hmmm maybe a wreath for the laundry room in honor of all the socks that have gone to the great beyond!

What a good article br. I loved the all white crisp cleaness of that room. And good ideas in it also. We painted our's white but I have a small wall paper border at the ceiling level to draw your eye upwards making the room appear larger. (trust me it is a smallllllll room). I do have one oak cabinet in there but it is so high on the wall I can only reach the bottom shelf of it. Dh is putting up two really nice long shelves for me to store things in baskets, making it easy for me to reach.

Cara, we are getting ready to do our laundry room.....I have a border I bought years ago of laundry hanging to put up, so I decided to paint the walls sky blue and I am going to sponge paint clouds on the wall..... I might make a curtain out of clothes line and doll clothes hanging on it...this is my area and I told dh I am doing it my way!!!! ;D

Oh Jayne, that sounds so cute. I cute out some of the clothing from my left over wall border and printed them on the computer on iron on transfer paper and then ironed them onto a tab top curtain that was off white. It was cute, but the sun is intense back there so it bleached out the curtains. Not sure what I will put up now, but it has to be light colours cause of the small dark room..Can't wait to see yours. Picture it for us please.

I do these revamps all the time and dummy me ALWAYS forgets to take b4&af pics. I guess I go into and don't realise that I'm going to revamp (Ah yes, let's just dust behind the washer, nothing else), then 2 hours later I've done wonders...

I never said I did it often! Believe me it's a rarity! I just revamped my ebay closet. It is now a pantry, some of you may have read on FF that I had a "new" pantry. I've switched to mostly books so there's no need for me to have a bazillion boxes that I'll never use. We stuffed Dh's trunk LOADS of priiority boxes and he (better have) dropped them off at the PO this morning. As usual, I didn't think I was going to do all that (was just planning on re'org'ing, then decided to empty it) so, oh, about 2 hours later I smacked my forehead and cursed myself for not grabbing the cam. Did my laundry area a week and a half go. Was just going to dust under the shelf and behind it..... Do ya see the paatern here? Now if only my typing were that goos!
