We live on a hill that is sorta at the end of the road. What I mean is, while you CAN keep going over the hill to the harbour, most people go to the harbour via a tunnel 10 minutes from home. For most people most of the time, my 'village' is at the end of the road.
And, as we live on a HILL, I always feel funny saying "come down some time", although that is what feels most natural for me (perhaps because I usually lived farther south than most relatives etc). "Come up some time" just sounds weird to me. I'm trying to train myself to just say "come over some time"! :-)
