While I wouldn't wish these 'hot flashes' on my worst enemy, here is a funny story. I have been having these so called 'hot flashes' for over 4 years now since my hysterectomy.(Yeah right, hot flash my eye! Who named them flashes anyway? Had to be a man because mine last sometimes upwards of a half hour! ) Anyway I had told my older sister Sandy about them and how they are now in the extreme from the Tamoxifen I take for the breast cancer. Well she also got breast cancer and just finished her treatments. She cannot take Tamoxifen but the chemo has sped up the process and she is now in menopause too. Now you cannot tell this sister anything, she knows it all. Well guess what she told me the other night on the phone? That I was right about being exhausted all the time during and after treatments, a tired she never dreamed existed. She was constantly telling me to just get up and do something when I was going through this. And also she had no idea what I was talking about when I said the hot flashes were horrendous. To this she told me to get my mind on something else, to which my reply was "I am, I'm thinking about breathing!" Yep mine are so bad that you can't breathe. Anyway, you would have to know my sister, to know that her telling me I was right, is a once in a lifetime thing, but twice? I was in shock! ;D
