Would you believe I can? I had to teach the boys how to tie their ties when they went off to high school, because dh hadn't got around to it yet.

I can-- it's not much different than cinching a saddle And Marty can no longer tie his own, so on the rare occasions when he must wear a tie-- I tie his. I also taught my son's to tie their ties, since Marty can't do it.

It makes me want to go horse riding again when I hear about cinching saddles. It was mentioned also in a book I was reading recently.

Lynn, this will shock you then - when we came to Australia in the 70's, I went from no uniform at Millikan Junior High to a uniform WITH A TIE at Mount Waverley High School. Gosh, I hated that place.

I can understand why you would hate it. And to think, my guys gripe about wearing a uniform to school that consists of khaki pants or shorts and a navy pullover embossed with the school logo!

It sounds like you had a time of it there Violet. I missed the formal uniform at my High School which was actually called a Technical School, I think it went out just before I came.
lynn we have boring grey for the guys here, but navy top same as yours.

On the weekend dh taught our eldest son how to tie a tie for a job interview. He also sent him home with a printed page and an internet address in case he forgot. Here is a cute animation on how to do it. www.tollesburysc.co.uk/Knots/Tie_windsor.htm
