Thank you!! I honestly couldn't tell you what of chicks those are, they are Ma's, but the pictures brought back memories of the little chickies that we had while growing up. If the picture on the top left the paper says "A mother's love found just in time" Ma didn't even realize that when she took the picture that it was there. Perfect scrapbook page, LOL. Here is another one that I did tonight: I took this picture of dad hiding among the trees leaning on the fence. This is one of my favorite pictures. Did just a little distressing on this page, LOL. That is a great photo and the rest suits it.
The chickens reminded me of some when I was growing up too.

I'm just getting into distressing, haven't done much of it to yet. Basically I took sandpaper to the paper, ROFL. Just kept going in various directions until it had a look like I was looking for. Also, not all paper has the white core, if you take sandpaper to one that doesn't have the white core, you will still get really cool textures and different shades of colors. To to the edges of that paper, I bought a nifty tool at my LSS (local scrapbook store). Here is a link to it: www.makingmemories.com/products/tools/edge_scraper.cfm I believe it was $2.49. For me not using a razor blade, TOTALLY worth it, ROFL. (I'm a klutz and have been known to draw blood while scrapbooking, LOL.) I just ran the edge scraper along the edge of the paper until it started to curl up like I wanted it. It's easier to use on cardstock rather than lighter weight paper, but it's fun no matter what. You can also use ink to distress papers and items. Here is a circle journal page I did. The library cards and pocket was all white. I used a stamping ink pad to get the dusty dirty look. First time I did that, it was a blast! Of course messy, but fun, ROFL. Oh, and if you are wondering, yes, that is actual twine, and the little metal things, I picked up at the hardware store. Fit perfect for this page I think. Oh, I also inked the blue cardstock. I love trying new things, so much fun! Now, I've shown a few LO's I want to see your LO's! I need inspiration again! Amber

Wow, very nice. Love the distressed look. Gonna have to get out my sand paper and try this technique. I have done the ink pad to get the dirty look and I like it really well. Especially for the outside edges of tags and such. I never thought of going to the hardware store for embellishments. Cool idea..you go girl. I will scan in some of my pages when I return from my trip around the first of Sept. Don't know if I have time before then.
Oh yea, I love the cool tool. A scrapper can't have too many tool's eh??

Basically each person creates their own cover and suggests a theme for the book. Then they mail it to the next person on the list and they add the LO in the book in the theme. My page was for a recipe circle journal. I haven't altered any books...yet....LOL. I will alter anything I can get my hands on, ROFL. I'm going to do an comp book next! Amber

I also hope that you all don't mind me sharing stuff with you. If I ever post too much or something, please let me know. I would hate to be known as "Sir-posts-too-much" ROFL. Amber
