She got this kit for Christmas. It has felt cut out pieces and she is sewing them together. Of course her stitches are HUGE, but she is trying and I guess this is how she will learn. Once the bear is made and stuffed, she is supposed a knit a little scarf for him. If she actually finishes it I'll post a picture.

We had to take it apart and redo it last night. The felt has a furry side, and she sewed one half of the bear with the furry side in. I then showed her how to do a whip stitch, and to stitch a bit closer together. I told her she could enter it in the fair if she got it done. They have a kids category where they all get green ribbons and a $1 premium.

That would be terrific. My daughter seemed thrilled after the show/fair this past March when she entered the sewing section.
