Chocolate Walnut Slice
1/2 cup Self Raising flour pinch salt 1 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup brown sugar lightly packed 4oz butter
Filling:
2oz butter 2 oz dark chocolate 1/3 cup sugar 1 egg 1/3 cup Self Raising flour 1/3 cup plain flour 1/4 cup milk 2 oz chopped walnuts 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Chocolate Icing:
1/2 oz butter 1oz dark chocolate 3/4 cup icing sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 tabs hot water
Sift flour and salt, place all dry ingredients into bowl add melted butter; mix well. Press mixture into greased 7 x 11inch lamingon tin. Bake in moderate oven for 10 minutes.
Pour filling over hot base, bake further 25 minutes. Remove from oven, stand for 10 minutes, then top with chocolate icing. When the icing is set, cut into bars.
Filling: Melt butter and chopped chocolate over hot water; pour into mixing bowl. Add sugar add beaten egg, mix well add sifted flour alternately with milk, stir in vanilla and walnuts.
Chocolate Icing: Melt butter and chocolate over hot water, add sifted icing sugar, vanilla aand water; beat until smooth.
