Sounds delicious, and I just happen to have that recipe book. I cannot believe how clever people are, though; I would not even attempt to ice something like that!

I have had a bit of practise with that sort of icing. When we moved from the farm and into a flat or house cut in half, the lady who owned the house was a almost professional cake decorator, or rather a cake decorator very much in demand. She was elderly and she let me spend a few hours with her, which was lovely.
It is a bit like putting on a pie crust, and at the time I did make a lot of pies.
