Do you have Cell Phones or just a land line? Which do you use more?
We have a land line only for connecting our computer DSL and local phone calls.
We have Family Talk with Cingular and dh and I both have phones. We also have our dd connected on our family talk. We can talk to each other free. We share the minutes. Dh doesn't use his much, but dd and I both use ours alot, especially long distance as we talk everyday. My other dd Tam also has Cingular and we can talk free to her as well as Lori is able to talk free to her Mom in law.
Just works for us.
You?

both, lan line is used much like yours Cara, only we use it for faxes and local calls.
We have Nextels and also have the free mobile to mobile, direct connect and nationwide long distance.
It's just easier to keep track of each other with the direct connect (walkie talkie thingy). MIL and FIL have them also as for my family, I usually call them on the lan line since I have a set rate on my phone plan.

We've got those little devils too. I wish I could chunk mine in the river. Alltell is our carrier.
All of my crew love love love to chat. I know y'all won't believe me, but I AM the quiet one here. On the weekends, Tyler talks to all his friends on my cell phone....they all have free mobile to mobile like us.
The house phone is usually tied with Shane talking to his parents in KY or customers. When we signed up with Bellsouth, we got a package deal that included unlimited long distance, caller id, call waiting, internet for one set fee. Shane has relatives in WI, FL and WV he talks with.

We have cellphones and a land line. I only carry my cell phone for emergencies. DH uses his a bit more. When we call our Moms long distance we use our land line.

We have only had a mobile phone for less than 2 years. Our son got one before that. We mostly use our landline, and we have dialup. We use the mobile for travelling to our larger town which is 1 1/2 hours away, just to chat about shopping, which I saw others doing and thought they were really silly at the time. Sometimes just to say we are leaving to come home. We have a special one for the mountains in case we break down, but it still doesn't work in all places, probably half the trip lol.

I confess, I'm a little keen on technology...I got my first mobile phone in 1995, when they had only started becoming available for consumers. Prior to that we only had huge car phones here. We have a land line, DSL (and this year I'm changing providers to get MORE SPEED!!), and uh, 5 mobile phones . Dh needs his for work, the boys now pay for their own. Once we have the faster DSL connection, I'll buy a cheapie VOIP phone and see what that's like. Australia has notoriously slow, expensive internet access compared to the rest of the world, in part due to the expense of laying new cable in such a big country with so many remote areas. We finally bought a bargain priced wireless access point recently, so everyone can be online on their own computers at once, which is fabulous.

We have a land line for local calls and DSL. We also have 2 cell phones (1 for Dave, 1 for me). I have a family/friends plan where anyone who has Verizon can talk to each other for free. I am trying to get my parents to use theirs more, so we can talk via phone for free (they live 400 miles away)
