In order to post pictures like Lucie and I have in posts, you have to have an account at another site that hosts pictures like
www.photobucket.comit is free to sign up for.
THEN:
1. RIGHT click on the photo you want to copy.
2. Click on
Save Picture As...
3. Save the photo to your hard drive. I made a folder under
My Documents called
Internet pictures so they wouldn't get mixed up with pictures I take on my camera.
4. Now go to your free account at Photobucket and click on
Browse (you have to be signed into your account to upload pictures) Find the picture on your hard drive where you have saved it and click on it. The file path will automatically fill in for you on the Photobucket site.
5. Then click
Submit6. Once your photo is uploaded to your Photobucket account, you copy the
IMG tag (the bottom one) under the photo you want to share with us, and paste it into your post here.
You can paste a photo into any portion of your post here, not just at the beginning or end of a post.
Sounds a bit time consuming, but it really isn't. Once you have your free Photobucket account set up and do this a few times, it comes as second nature.
As far as bandwidth goes, doing it this way you are not using the original owners bandwidth, I think you are talking about
"hot linking' which is either illegal or at the very least not very nice as they have to pay for their bandwidth. You do have to be careful on
Copy Rights If the owner has on their site that you cannot copy their material, then please don't. You may tell us about the site and then give us an URL to click on that we may go and see it ourselves. If you are unsure whether you can copy something off someone else's site, err on the side of caution and just give us a link to go to that site ourselves.
Also, once you have uploaded the picture to your Photobucket account, you can delete the photo from your hard drive. But in order for everyone to see your photo on here, you
CANNOT move or delete your photo in your Photobucket account. In other words, the
IMG tag you used to post your photo here will no longer work if you move or delete it on your Photobucket account.
If you need anymore help, or don't understand what I mean, just holler. ;D
