Aw thank you, but it isn't my cat, just one I found on the net and thought was cute. It isn't like I have a shortage of them around here, 13 inside and about? 22 outside! LOL You will find some of us on at anytime of the day or night. A couple of us are insomniacs so you may find us on in the middle of our night. I'm glad you feel comfortable here and hope you will continue to post. I have enjoyed your posts already this morning. BTW, I'm Deed one of the admin team here I live in upstate NY with my wonderful hubby Jack for 18 years now and our 13 furbabies. I'm known as SewCrafty on some other sites.

Hi Deed. I tell this story alot, but my husband has been to upstate NY and the photos are lovely. He was there in early October when the leaves where starting to turn, and went to Endicott from more NYC way. If I come across sewcrafty that will be nice to know that I already "know" you, thanks.
I gets lonely sometimes when everyone is asleep so nice to know there may be others around sometimes.
teddymaker, thanks. I was thinking about the words hearth and home, my Nana had a hearth and her home had a braided rug which she had near her sink. Maybe she thought she would wear out the lino from standing at the sick so much peeling vegetables etc. and washing dishes. Maybe it was to make it soft for her back and feet. We don't have a tradition of making them, I didn't get to ask her where she got hers. I should ask Mum. You never know Nana may have made it, she was very frugal.
The ladies here do seem very nice and I'm sure they are.
You all live in interesting places.
Thanks everyone.
I can sure use a role model for the next phase of my life Carolyn. I am over 40, my youngest 3, not sure if I am having any more, and have a child flying the nest next year.

Oh braidedrug, that is too cool! I am about 20 minutes from Endicott! Did your hubby get to try our local specialty "Spedies" while here?

Braidedrug, this site can explain it better than I can. Lupo's Spiedies While there are now several different brands and recipes available, my mom's included LOL Lupo's (which is the original recipe) is by far the best in my opinion.

Thanks Ellise.
OK so they are kebabs, I am not an expert on those. Some Mums make them alot here I think and they sell them at meat places.
My husband said he just had lunch in the IBM caf!
