Here's one I made yesterday and everybody liked it. Tuna and Artichokes
1 can tuna, drained (I use my home canned tuna which just has it's own juice, so either water or oil packed will work). 1 small jar marinated artichokes a couple grinds of fresh black pepper Put these in a bowl...don't mash up the tuna. Cut up the 'chokes if they are too big. Set aside.
a squirt of lemon a bit of lemon zest (about a 1/4 tsp) 10 kalamata olives, pitted 2 cloves of garlic 1 Tablespoon olive oil 1Tablespoon mayonaise Place all of these ingrediants into a food processor and whirl til it's pretty smooth. If you don't have a food processor, minced olives and garlic and put into a bowl with lemon, oil and mayo.
Now toss this with the tuna/artichoke mix, and put on sourdough or ciabatta. Yesterday Iwas out of both so I toasted some ho-hum white bread and it was great!

Sounds lovely. The usual bread does too. When I was little the locals called that shape bread parne. Yum.
I was describing a dish to my eldest son the other day, and when he repeated the name back to me in converstation I was really happy because he knows the correct Italian prononciation, as he learnt the language for a few years. It just sounded much better than what I said.

For the past year or so we have been buying a bread and calling it "poo-gleeze"...according to the package (which was kind enough to give me the phonetics for it) it's actually pronounced "poo-ly-ay-say"...you think being brought up in the same house as my Italian grandparents I would have known that!
