Haha! I don't know if she is originally from our area but Georgeanne Brennan taught me English here when I was in high school (her former husband was my Agriculture teacher) and she use to own Le Marche seeds in the next town (no longer in business) with another one of my teachers! I guess she has done a good job of turning her passion into her livelihood! I love her books. www.georgeannebrennan.com/

What a lovely website. I assume that the novel would give a few hints about what Provence is like. The site is good if you are like me and have no idea how to make twice cooked potatoes! How wonderful happyathome. Chowder the westcoast way looks good too. She seems to have done a lot. Are there gardening books and novels? Green Eggs & Ham Cookbook, how delightful. I also like that one that mentions anchovies on the cover, yum.

I realised our library may have these books. They have 9! Now, which to choose.

I like the sound of the potager book she's written. There are some of her other books at our library - I love books about Provence! I lived in Provence for 3 months in '99 working as an au pair - I stayed in a small village. It was closer to Arles than Aix-en-Provence but I remember going to the market in Aix one time - quite fantastic! The food we ate everyday was amazing and I helped the mother of the family with some of the dishes. I will share some when I have a moment! ;D How lucky for you happyathome to have her as your English teacher! She must have been great fun.
