While we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (Galatians 6:10After I had driven home the point that nobody or nothing can keep us from being what God wants us to be, one of my students gave me this nugget of truth from an unknown author. People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway
If you are succesful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway
The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for the underdogs anyway
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway
People really need help, but may attack you if you help them.
Help people anyway
Give the world the best you've got and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you've got anyway Lord, I purpose today not to listen to my detractors or look to the left or the right, but to stay on the clear, sure path You have set before me:nnn

I have the biggest trouble with this one:
"If you are succesful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway"

You know, I too had a little trouble with that one until I really thought about it.
When one is successful, there will always be those trying to get for themselves from what someone else has attained. ie: look at those who have attained success and have many, many, people around them just wanting some of what they have. On the other hand there are those who resent (enemies) someones' success and will try to sabotage them, gossip and try to make them look smaller in order to allow themselves to feel bigger.
Oh my, does that make sense? I speak from my experience of being married into the Jacuzzi family (Jacuzzi Spas?). My husband is their nephew and I saw so much false friends and cut throats...
If I wasn't clear, just toss this out. Love, Sky

This issue was being explored in the book I just read, a novel by Jane Peart called Promise of the Valley. I liked how she spelled it out, like you just did. I have never understood this. I came across it first at 36 when we moved to a "better" house.
Have you heard the song Anyway by Martina McBride? I have just started playing it in my car.

BR, you are so precious and oh how I love you. What I posted comes from a devotional by Neil Anderson. You may have never heard of him, but he has a few wonderful books out. He also has seminars which I was privileged to take part in several years ago. His goal is to see Christians healed of any and all hindrances.. He is a simply wonderful, down to earth man who empathizes with the down trodden and those encompassed with personal problems. Love and Big Hugs, Sky
P.S. I will be checking out those other sites that you have posted. Thank you.

It is lovely that you are keeping me up to date about Christian things and people's ministries.
