Okay ladies.....it is October and if you are thinking a little about Christmas it wouldn't hurt to get a move on some treats that can go in the freezer so you aren't baking 24/7 in December! Now don't cringe, but my DH likes a certain kind of fruitcake...yeah, I know, sounds yucky, but I DO like a few thin slices with a hot cuppa tea in the evenings...it just speaks Autumn/Winter in volumes to me. It is best when it sits for a few and , yes, it can sit for a LONG time...kinda scary....but kinda good! I'll post it iin the next few days (I have to decipher my Mother-in-laws changes and my added notes on it and put them into a readable order!). What kind of treats do you make ahead of time and freeze for the holidays? Do you make handed down recipes that your mom made for you?

Australians are very open to fruitcake. My Mum makes one for us. Not sure what happened last year.
I make sure I get my fix of mince pies and shortbread etc. I haven't tried making them though, maybe once years ago.
All those things go well with a cup of tea, and I am right into tea!
