He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
May God forgive us, for all the things we do in the name of Jesus Christ, which are anything but Christ like. We can’t forget and forsake our roots; we will lose our focus and purpose. Trailblazers armed with passion, truth, and the love of Jesus Christ wrote the gospels, inspired by God. They certainly did more than say they were “Christians and loved the Lord”. Their lives released the sweet aroma of the Spirit that dwelled within them. Even when it became dangerous and their lives were on the line, they continued without compromise. They were not nearly as concerned with all that was wrong, as they were with sharing the truth they knew and believed with all of their being. They didn’t make a plan, and work to appear Holy, the evidence that the One and Only True and Holy, Righteous, and living God dwelled within them. They were beacons of light to all who heard and saw the message of hope and truth that they brought.
Prayer
Father forgive us for our attitudes of self-righteousness, and for believing that we have arrived and are somehow better than others. You sent Your Son Jesus for all, from the most elite to the most despicable. You love them all and desire them to know You. Restore a fire and passion in our souls that we may live our lives with You as our focus, that we would not hide the light within us, but share it with all those who desperately need to hear Your words of truth and hope, The brokenhearted, the sick, the hurting. We are reminded where we were, and where You have brought us, and we are forever in Your service. Amen
