I can so relate to this post. I pull the washing out of the machine, pile it in the basket and off I go, the clothes go on the line in 'their' spot! Hubby though takes the washing out of the machine and places it in the basket in a speial order, then he goes out and hangs it 'his' way! Ok I have had to train him in some areas, but I came to the conclusion that he was learning this housewife job, his mother never taught him anything and really he is doing well, and if I am pushed to admit it, probably better than I did! He has his own routine, it is different than I would do, but everything seems to get done. And I can relax when I get home at night and during the weekend. Sue

Suec the fact that your dh not only hangs the clothes, but thinks about it when he does it is just wonderful imo!
When the kids were little dh used to very occasionally hang the washing, and I'd go out there later to find a shirt with one sleeve right-side out, and one sleeve inside out, or a t shirt sleeve that had been left scrunched up so that it stayed wet. The way he hung underclothes was indescribable lol.
I'm never sure whether he has no pride or interest in matters of the home, or whether he is afraid to display any competency in case it results in being asked to do the chore again.

Oh I am sure that all males have an built knowledge that if they do a job badly often enough they wont have to do it again!
