I doubt if you could buy biscuit mix here, I only just worked out that it comes like that in the US. I did homemade biscuits and homemade gravy. You can buy scone mix which may work for that I don't know. Maybe on the box these days they mention it, maybe I should look!
I had a lot of trouble understanding the sausage gravy, and when I figured out what meat to use and started frying it it all made sense. It is strange how the gravy is white, is yours white too? I used buttermilk in my biscuits.

Yes ma'am my gravy is white here in the south they call it "Milk Gravy" or Pepper Gravy". We just call it biscuit gravy LOL. I always use buttermilk in biscuits and cornbread. I also use buttermilk when I batter my fish (soak it in it too) or chicken to fry.

I had alot of help from at least two ladies learning how to make biscuits and gravy. One told me about splitting the biscuits to serve them up, another helped out with the sausage.
In July we went to the airport early in the morning, like 5am, so we had breakfast there at McDonalds. We had sausage and egg McMuffin with hashbrowns. That is only one step away from breakfast burritos don't you think? That is my next thing to try, after pumpkin cookies.

That would be lovely Deed. I have home grown pumpkins, and there is some pumpkin left from the last one. So I am committed to make them very soon!

Do you already have a recipe for the Egg Mc Muffins or do you need one?
I do these and freeze them, they keep for about 3 months when my ds doesn't find them. I'll post the entire recipe for you under breakfasts. From: English muffins on. Oh I also have a recipe for the new Mc Griddles as well.

Thank you Deed, printing the recipe for the cookies now. Ellise, that sounds great having those in the freezer, they would taste really nice.

I found yours first Ellise and I have questions! Sorry for being so forward.
We have English muffins in the grocery here, we don't have alot of bread, so that is nice that they have them. Is the sausage, the same sausage you use for biscuits and gravy? Ours won't look quite like McDonalds' because in America and McDonald's your cheese is a different color. The sausage and eggs I think are making me hungry!

It should be. Here we call (or some people do) it Pattie sasuage. I just call it sasuage. hehehe. But I am willing to bet it is the same sasuage you use for the gravy. It should come in a "roll". Cheese, well we use Kraft singles for these, not sure if they sell it there or not. I'll have to ask Don (DH) he did all the grocery shopping while we were stationed there (Darwin) for 3 months.

It didn't occur to me that McDonald's make breakfast burritos in the US I don't think. I am sure one day they will do it here since it seems to be the next step after hashbrowns with sausage and egg muffins.
At the moment they are into healthy food, like deli choice bread rolls, and the salad's plus range, do you have those?
Darwin is very hot. I haven't been there. Did you find it similar to South Carolina? Some of my husbands old workmates have been to Raleigh.
We have Kraft singles, they are very pale in color. My Mum buys them, we do sometimes, the grilling one, but prefer a 1kg box of the Kraft cheese that they are made with.
I think I have seen sausage mince in a roll. Today I bought two 1lb lots on trays. I'm sure I can find a use for it!
I bought a scone mix in a box, I am going to try to doctor it up and make biscuits with it. I will read the box later and see. They gave me huge boxes this morning, one is still in the car, it isn't hot here must go and check it out, today is our first nice day.

Got the things out of the car. Yes I could use the scone mix for biscuits, by adding a tiny bit more butter and using buttermilk instead of milk, maybe using a bit less and adding a tiny bit more salt. I was planning to use biscuits in a bake for tea one night.

I read the recipe for McGriddles. It reminds me of a recipe I took out of a magazine a few weeks ago, the picture looked really nice.
Buttermilk Pancakes with Scrambled Eggs, Bacon and Tomato
100g plain flour pinch salt 1 egg 1 egg yolk 350ml buttermilk bacon scrambled eggs toma tomatoes, to serve
To make pancake batter, sift flour and salt into a bowl. Make a well in the centre and in it place the egg, yolk and buttermilk. Gradually mix the flour into the liquid. Cover batter and leave to rest in the fridge for 30 mins. Cook. Makes 6. Grill bacon and tomatoes and prepare scrambed eggs. Place a serving of egg and a few bacon rashers on one half of the pancake. Fold over the other half and top with tomatoes.
