One of the guys that works for Don has family that lives near us. Well they have a chicken farm and have offered us free eggs for as long as we want them (providing the have some that day), they have also offered us free chickens! But I don't know how to care for a chicken and besides that my dogs may kill them. They are Easter Chicken? ever heard of them? Josh said they lay "colored" eggs. Now if I can find someone to give me a half a cow I'd be set! LMBO!

You could have a couple in a little shed. They could stay there all the time, and you could let them out if you feel like it and keep the dogs on the chain for an hour or two. We call them chooks here. You just feed them wheat and we put down a little shell grit sometimes, although you use something else there. They just need to be locked in their house at night and have a little stick across the back up high so they can perch to sleep, and water. They also love table scraps, so you won't need to dispose of them anymore. The only thing they won't eat is citrus peel.
