~Source from frugalliving.com~These are not really recipes, but quick ideas for already cooked rice 1.Heat and eat with milk and sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. 2.Top rice with leftover gravy of almost any kind. 3.Mix shredded cheese into it and heat in the oven. 4.Make a simple rice pudding by adding 3 to 4 times as much milk as rice, sweetening it with sugar or honey, and adding a touch of lemon. Cook or bake slowly, stirring once or twice. 5.Pour chicken or beef bouillon over it and heat to eat as a side dish. 6.Mix salsa or picante sauce into leftover rice, add a little salt and call it "Spanish rice". 7.Put it in a pot with leftover chicken or turkey, add a can of mixed vegetables and some seasonings for a quick soup. 8.Make fried rice by heating in a little oil and adding a scrambled egg, tiny bits of leftover sausage and vegetables and soy sauce. 9.Use rice as the base for a raw vegetable salad. Use any combination of tomatoes, carrots, onions, green peppers, cucumbers, and shallots with a little salt and olive oil. ...to read more tips using rice, check out frugalliving.about.com/od/basicfrugalfoods/a/rice.htm

We have found in our country anyway, that the grains are really cheap, and lentils etc. My dh prefers to make fried rice from raw rice, it saves cooking it first. We have alot of rice, it is about even with potatoes, pasta and noodles, possibly more rice.
Rice salad: cooked rice, can corn kernels, celery, mayo, red capsicum I think. Yum. Ham, diced.
