Gasket Maintenance

One of the first things to wear out on a refrigerator is that rubber door gasket. You can perform simple preventive maintenance by applying a very thin coat of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to the gasket to protect it from mildew, drying and cracking. You'll improve the seal, too.
