Install a programmable thermostat, which can be set so the heat goes on and off when needed. Did you know that heating costs increase by five percent for each degree you set your thermostat above 68 degrees?

DH made the decision before last winter, like about 6 months ago, that he was going to cut all of our wood this year. I thought maybe we would end up buying some, but we didn't.

Does anyone have a programmable thermostat and if so how do you like it?

We have one in our other house, and love it. We will be replacing this one in December when Don takes his 2 weeks vacation (lots on his to do list)

I just had one installed last week-end and I love it! Wish I would have done it sooner!

Good to hear that seaar2000 Do you mind telling me if it is pretty pricey, and what brand you would recommend.
