We are a family of atopic eczema suffers, with hay fever, dry skin, weird rashes, the lot. I call it 'sensitive skin'. Dh developed rosacea a few years ago, and has been on and off antibiotic treatment since. I've since developed a related condition, peri-oral something or other, as has dd. I would assume it's contagious, although no one else seems to think so. After spending a lifetime being allergic to most skin care products, but needing to use something as my skin gets very dry, I have finally found some products that are excellent, cause no trouble, area paraben-free and which suit dd and dh as well as the boys. I highly recommend: Cetaphil wash and moisturisers, Rosacea Care products (their face sunscreen is brilliant), and A'Kin organic products, especially their face cream for sensitive skin. Dh is having wonderful success with the Rosacea Care serum, so much so that he's asked me to buy him a bottle - that is a first, I promise! It's quite expensive at US$52, but his face is normal-colored for the first time in years, and that's after using the sample bottle for only 3 days. Cetaphil products have the advantage of being inexpensive and available everywhere, but the other products are worth seeking out, depending on your requirements. cetaphil.com.au/rosaceacare.com/www.purist.com/product.php?product=23

Thanks violet. I don't remember seeing them. Will think of it if ds17 has a flare up.

The Cetaphil wash is brilliant for keeping flare-ups at bay, both for those with acne and with dry skin. The dermatologist always tells them to use it.
