I like an organized home. I like things to work, and to require minimal maintenance. When the house is tidy and running well, I am happy.
Now lately we've been having a Rubbish Problem. We have a very small wheelie bin. I changed to a smaller one a few years ago, as an enviro and money-saving move. I have no intention of getting a larger one, but I think that dh is going to have to relent and buy a compost bin.
The problem we're having with the rubbish is that two of the kids have gone to see a sports dietitian. She has loosely specified what they should eat for maximum fitness and minimum body fat. It's all good food, but the extra fruit, veg, yoghurt (SO much yoghurt!!) and canned fruit is yielding much more rubbish, so much so that the bin is full two days before collection day.
Seems it's time to do some serious thinking and planning about their food, and the rubbish it produces. It's interesting as we've never had this trouble before, so I will have to work out exactly what the extra rubbish is. It does seem that I can finally justify to dh why we need a compost bin, or a worm farm, for the fruit and veg scraps.
