Today I got a parcel from my Mum. It had a pair of mulberry trousers that were destined for the opshop but ended up at my place. Mum sewed and washed them. She included a lavender t-shirt that matched very well, hmm, she probably did that on purpose? Also a new pair of microfibre type black capris, how come my fav. colour is back? They were great because they have an adjustable waist. Anyway, I hung the trousers up, possibly I could wear them to the dinner next week if I can keep warm with the top, I need some kind of jacket and shoes. I found I could probably throw out about 5 items soon. I found a pair of jeans that look new, I think I wore them for one season and with my memory forgot them. I have a suit in there from goodwill or the thrift store. I think it will look good when it is sorted. I only have one door on the wardrobe for my things. Anyway, that reminded me of my fav. blog. sarahsdaughter.lifewithchrist.org/category/3356Tell us about your wardrobe/closet organising/organizing.

Your Mum sounds very stylish, Br, mine's the same too. Sadly that gene skipped a generation in my case!
I was reading today the ballet slippers/pumps (well, they look like ballet slippers but have hard shoe soles) are what one must wear this season. They could look nice with either of your new pairs of pants.
Although I have very few clothes (yes, I'm serious lol), I confess to hanging them in color within category, ie, jackets/cardigans together, then in color order. It is easier when there's not much stuff, but even when I unpacked we did it. It looks great looking into the wardrobe. Yes, I am a bit odd!

Dressy dresses and suits on one end, blouses/shirts in the middle, skirts on the remaining end. Winter sweaters/blazers, etc hang in the very back of the closet.

I tried, but got confused, obviously not a good day for organising. Mum didn't match them on purpose, but they do look good together. The new jeans needed elastic putting in the back, and that has been done, so one step forward. I was interested in Australian Idol last Saturday that Lisa was wearing the ballet pumps, and Kyle didn't like them. That was a shame. I found this article about sorting out ladies wardrobes. www.sideroad.com/Clothing/closet-clothes-organize.html

I have been working on my wardrobe. Yesterday I got a new pair of green/grey capris a size up from the guessimate that my Mum bought for me. If I can get to a Big W soon maybe I could get one more pair.
It is still a WIP.
We need to put a couple of buttons on two pairs of capris I wore last year. They are hard to get the zips to work properly, I bought them secondhand. I may look on ebay for something similar.
Some of my dresses have been hung in there ready for Christmas or something like that.
I have been wearing the black capris nearly every day, at least now I have green ones.
Mum cut the bottoms off a pair of denim capris that were neither capris or pants. We got them in the op-shop at one of our meetings at the park midway. They are really nice. Too hot for hot days though, but good today as it is a little cooler.
I got a beige top for going out in those black capris.

Your wardrobe is coming along nicely, Br.
I bought a pair of trackpants to wear while out walking which will also be good to loll around the house in. They are black, cotton, with no fluffy stuff inside, but not a thin fabric. I've been looking for ages without success and finally found these in the men's section. They must be designed for very small men because they'd be way to small for my boys or their friends, but they're just right for a short me!

I was reading a makeover in Notebook magazine today, and it reaffirmed what I was thinking about what style of t-shirts I should buy in the future, so that was really reassuring that things are progressing. I did buy 2 t-shirts yesterday and they should come in the mail soon unless they are sold out. A white and a red one. I have gone back to red, which used to be my favourite color for shirts. I hope I like it.

Mum sent me some more capris in the size up, and also made a dart in each of the shirts she sent me originally. She also got me two singlets to go under them.

Today I got a red skivvy without the turtle type neck. You need warm clothes where I live. I used to have one with a zip at the neck. Not perfect but I think it will help. It was one of the Pepper brands.

Today I saw a Black Pepper display. Black pants, smooth with fluffy lining, a red windcheater with matching necklace, black skivvy. DH pointed out such an outfit would need more than runners to wear with it. Anyway I couldn't decide. My windcheaters are too thin now, so need new ones at some point, especially ones like this that say warm machine wash, my favourite.

That does sound nice, Br. I love red, and black always looks good. I suppose your dh's runners comment is apt, but there are lots of cheap flats around at the moment, like the Ked's-style shoes, that feel like runners but don't look like them. We saw some at Payless shoes that were around the $20 mark, and dd bought some on sale at Witchery for $19.95. I saw a red and white striped pair at Novo shoes in Forest Hill, too. Target would be sure to have something like that. Or there are slightly dressier flats like these around the $30 mark: www.paylessshoes.com.au/range/command/display/serial/34/cid/22Oops, not that I'm trying to encourage you to spend money. I just get carried away sometimes.

That is very helpful Violet, thanks.
My ideas are probably a bit dated concerning shoes.

Today was my lucky day, the top was 25% off, so I got it and the black skivvy. Didn't see the pants, will look next time.
I am so pleased about it being the same kind of material as my original windcheaters, easy to look after and mountain fleece as they call it now.
