So far my new old fashioned cupboard has been an organising success. ;D
Everything fitted back in. The first cupboard was good. We had it in our old original home and it was in a shed at Mum's. We brought it here because we didn't have the cupboards we thought we needed to completely unpack.
So the things from this cupboard fitted into the one we recently bought and sits in the same position. The problem with the cupboard from the shed was that it had chipped paint and was a 60s icon. With imagination it possibly would have been OK.
However, the new cupboard now houses the bread, previously always on the bench or stuffed into the pantry. We have a special hutch lined with tin. When I was a child I think I remember another family having one of those.
We now also have a place to store cakes, on the other side.
I will be able to unpack a large oldfashioned platter to put up in the top section that has a plate rack.
Our old mixmaster now fits inside as well. It was just sitting in the shelf before with all the paperwork. The new cupboard doesn't have a shelf. Doing a happy dance!
Also the cupboard fits the whole space and sits flatter against the wall. It makes the room seem more spacious and neat. It gives off a comfortable oldfashioned feeling of home or something.

I just realised that the roasting dish also fits into the cupboard where previously it was on top of the cupboard.
