From the www.lifeorganizers.com/home/ website: "Every item you have, no matter what it is, should have a designated home. For instance, the home for your magazines might be your magazine holder, which is located on your bookshelf. Or your home for your extra file folders and labels, might be the top shelf of your office supplies cabinet." While I love the way a home that has been organized along these lines looks, it doesn't leave room for anything new to come into the house. As we're an older family, books and uni papers are a big issue. It is impossible to gauge the amount of space that will be required for books and papers for the coming semesters, also there's the issue of accessible storage for stuff from the previous year. I would dearly love to line our whole dining room with bookshelves. The sort that have a deeper cupboard at the bottom, with shelves from waist-height up to say 7 feet. It would give us storage to spare for books, and plenty of cupboard space for ugly, bulky things to go, such as the expanding files eldest uses for his uni work. What's your storage dream?

I actually have a cupboard like that. It was built by a joiner when I was little. I am not sure I want it alot of the time lol.
I have uni stuff too, I think we will look through it in the coming weeks.
I wouldn't mind a new kitchen dresser or to have an idea if mine can be modernised or should be just thrown out.

I love kitchen dressers. What do you mean by modernised, Br?

Unfortunately it has 60s laminex on the counter part, and a matching paint a fake tan stuff from about the same era, and some diamond backing board, or 3ply stuff with a diamond pattern. Not sure what paint would be good, probably any kind at this point.

Today dh went to a collectibles shop in town because I wanted a sugar bowl, ours is had-it.
He said they had an old cupboard, 30s with glass, and it has the same number of drawers and hutches I need, plus you can't see the junk through the glass like you can with the 60s ones. When the shop opens again we are going to try to buy it.
It is cream.
