The dining room's a disaster zone. Last year younger ds brought home a piece of gym equipment called a weights bench. It's huge, weighs a ton, and of course he hardly uses it as he goes to the gym anyway. Worst of all, we don't have a garage so there's nowhere to put it. So, I took the sideboard out of the dining room and moved it to the family room where I don't like it. Then, I pushed the dining table against the wall and now pretend it's a desk. Six of the chairs were moved to the kitchen table in the family room, while two stayed in the dining room as desk chairs. I got rid of the old kitchen chairs. Now it's summer, both boys are playing golf and cricket again which means giant golf and cricket bags and nowhere to put them. They've been dumping them in the dining room. Also, we have a million books, mainly their uni stuff, that have been living in piles on the dining table. So, yesterday I moved a 7 foot high bookshelf to one side of the dining room fireplace. On the other side I put up eldest ds's currently unused (was in pieces under his bed) black Ikea shelves. Not the best look, but filled with books not too awful. With the shelves out from under his bed, the cricket bag can go there instead. Now to try and find a place for the golf bags. Trying to keep all their junk housed is like a barn dance.

It sounds like a relief, at least for a little while, hope it lasts a long time.
