There are some household products I simply don't buy, and one of them is air freshener. If I want a nice scent I'll put out a bowl of potpourri or some flowers, but the smell I most prefer is .... none! Every morning, almost without fail, I'll open up a few key windows and let in fresh air.
When I'm home, there's always a window open, unless it's a really hot day or the rain is coming in at an angle that will get inside. The windows aren't usually wide open, just a couple of inches to let the fresh air in, and the stale air out.
To me, air freshener is a manufactured need - completely unnecessary.
Opinions?

I'm not an air freshener person. ds18 started wanting one for his room when about 14. He still likes them.
I have started buying one for the toilet, but before that I didn't usually buy it.
