Taken from Farmer's Almanac 2005
Messy bathroom? Give each family member a basket for toilet articles. Bathroom stays neat.
No dustpan? Cut a used and cleaned foil pie pan in half. Works wonders.
To clean stains on a carpet: mix equal parts of vinegar, lemon juice and salt. It works!

Dh and I do this. I bought us each a plastic bin with a handle and we keep our toiletries in them. Just reach under the sink and grab the bin and everything we need after our shower is right there. And it does reduce the clutter..

A section of newspaper makes a great dustpan. Use a section folded like it comes out of the paper machine. Hold the corner that has no folds and let the 1/4 sheet closest to the floor drop. The longer edge will come down flush with the floor so you son't have any extra little pieces that can't be swept up. Does that make sense?

Sorry Karen, I'll have to read it again when I am not so tired!
I like the idea of that carpet recipe. We have had tiny drink spills here and there and have to try to do something about it soon. Does it work for older stains, that are not fresh?
