And pantry, for that matter. Our pantry in in such constant use that it rarely seems empty - of people that is - but I try to go through and use up/get rid of outdated spices and stores maybe 4 times a year. Then everything can come off the shelves and I'll give them a good wipe down.
As for the fridge, I should do it weekly, or at least every second week before shopping, but sometimes a month goes past before I get to it. Any spills are wiped up straight away, but I like to wipe everything down regularly to keep it fresh.

I the world were perfect, I would clean both fridges and freezers twice a month....but I do it when I can't stand the clutter anymore...the pantries, well not often enough

I'm too embarrassed to say.... actually Pierre, my dh, cleans it out for us regularly. I never have the courage to do it....

Lucie, it's not such a big job at my house! My kitchen is tiny so I can't have much in it!
