Well, I tried it out using the original recipe. I tried cutting the sugar back like in the link above, but with real cocoa it is not sweet enough. I should have used a teaspoon at the end to mix to get into the corners. I put a plate underneath as it was starting to overflow. Very nice, would go well with cream. 5 minute chocolate cakeIngredients: 4 Tablespoons SR flour 4 Tablespoons sugar 2 Tablespoons cocoa 1 Egg 3 Tablespoons milk 3 Tablespoons oil 1 Mug Instructions: Mix flour, sugar and cocoa: add egg pour in milk oil and mix microwave for 3 mins on high wait till it stops rising and sets in mug tip on to a plate and eat

Is SAfrica metric? I wonder if that is the original source of the recipe. I have assumed it is a non metric recipe. Won't know until I try it again. This is the recipe I will try next time.
Five Minute Chocolate Cake
3 tablespoons Self-Raising Flour 3 tablespoons raw sugar or white sugar 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa 1 egg 2 tabs plus 1 teaspoon milk 2 tabs plus 1 teaspoon oil
1 mug.
Mix flour, sugar and cocoa in mug. Add egg with fork.
Pour in milk and oil and mix with teaspoon.
Microwave for 3 minutes on high.
Wait until it stops rising and sets in the mug. Tip onto a plate and eat, maybe with cream.
Edited to say, it was similar but looked more like it was supposed to in the cup.
