1 2/3 cups granulated sugar 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted (can substitute margerine) 2 TBS water 2 large eggs 2 tsp vanilla 1 1/3 cup flour 3/4 cup powdered baking cocoa (I got the recipe off the can...LOL!) 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) powdered sugar (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9"x13" baking pan.
Mix the sugar, butter, and water together. Add the eggs and vanilla and stir. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir into the wet mixture. Stir in nuts, if desired. Spread batter into baking pan.
Bake for 18-25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky. Cool completely before sprinkling with powdered sugar (if desired). Cut into bars and guard them better than I did. I only got 2 out of the whole huge pan!
