I can't believe that my name and garden are in the same sentence! ;D Let's see, I now have 5 green peppers planted, one is really small, not sure if it is going to make it or not. Haven't seen any buds yet. 3 Husky Red tomato plants are doing great! All have flowers and or little green tomatoes on them already! 5 Roma tomato plants are doing well too, lots of flowers but no fruit yet. 6 cauliflower plants are getting big. Don't remember what they are supposed to look like as they grow, so a learning experience here. 6 cucumber plants, had 7 but one died already. 3 out of 6 are growing great, the other 3 are growing but only about ½ the size of the others. 3 yellow squash plants, all are looking good with flowers just ready to fall off and little sqashes should be in sight soon. Hope to get some cantaloupe and watermelons planted today. I have the seeds and figured with the price of them in the stores around here, I might as well give it a try. Hey if I have too many come harvest time, I have a big family! ;D Might want to do some pumpkins and gourds too for fall decorating, better get some seeds. LOL

**Update** 3 July
I have little squashies! ;D
Car asked about my berry patches in another post. Blackcaps will be ready for picking soon, lots are turning red and it doesn't take long for them to go from red to black. LOL
Blackberries are healthy, can't do much to hurt them. LOL
Raspberry bushes look good, but time will tell. Last year the berries were so tiny and they are delicate too, fell apart most of the time when picking.
Currants are ripening, but I hadn't realized they were getting choked out by the blackberries so the crop will be small.
Apple tree looks good, I like not having to buy apples for cooking. These aren't very good for eating apples, but in recipes are great. I'm not sure of the variety. Our tree is part of what once was an orchard about a hundred years ago (neighbor has the rest of the trees) and many people here in NY cross breed. I'm thinking they are a cross of Cortlands and Northern Spy, but not sure.

Come ahead Mimi! ;D Been picking blackcaps now for about a week. Have put up about 6 quarts in the freezer so far. The blackberries won't be ready for picking for at least another 2 weeks yet. That's good, cuz I'm not ready to pick them. LOL Raspberries are a pretty sparse crop, a few nice ones but mostly the same as last year. I will definitely have to thin them out next year. I tried the pepper spray posted and I think I must have done something wrong. It burned/killed all the leaves on my peppers, cauliflower, tomatoes and cucumbers. Didn't use it on the yellow squash, no bugs on those at all. I still have tomatoes growing on all my plants though. No peppers showing yet, so they may have been a lost cause anyway. The cauliflower are really tall and starting to get crinkley leaves in the center of them so maybe they are doing something? I don't have a clue LOL. Cucumbers are spreading out nicely and are flowering, the spray didn't hurt them. The yellow squash are getting bigger and I have more flowers. I never did plant any melons. By the time I thought of it, the blackcaps were ripening and I just don't have the stamina to stay out in the heat that long to have planted them. Remember, I'm digging extremely rocky ground here and it would have taken me hours to plant only a few hills. Besides, I'm not even supposed to be out in the sun that much with this med they have me on. I have to wear spf50 sunscreen, big hat and still limit my time in the sun. Hard to do when you have to keep taking breaks and just want to get done. kwim?

I think with raspberries you need a large patch, not completely sure though.
