;D I don't have a veggie garden this year but hope to make room for one next year! But I do have flowers! My Daylillies are in full roaring bloom and are getting bigger by the day. Gladiolas are huge. I stood beside one the other day and it is as tall as I am (5'7") They are so lovely. but the rain we've been having is knocking them over . Puple coneflower is getting along just fine. As are the Red Hot Pokers (torch lilly) and Balloon flowers. My Tansy aren't doing as well this year maybe next year they will thrive. Lantiris (sp) are also doing quite well, very delicate looking red, yellow and pink clusters of blooms. Elephant ears are growing HUGE! Black ones not so well this time Lambs ears are coming along and look quite pleasing under the elephant ears Coriopus (sp) are looking vibrant. Lupines are coming out of my ears!!! Canna's are in need of transplanting soon as well, looking at the treeline to plant them so the can acclamate better. Cherry Tree is shot!! I think my male killed it my going tinkle on it so much Apple tree is doing good (if the dogs would stop picking the apples!!) Peach Tree is done for the year I think, the last ones weren't very plump or juicy. Planting an Avacado tree, hoping it will thrive indoors for the rest of the year then go outside in the Spring.

Oh my soooooo much rain here the last few weeks. It started raining here yesterday about 5 pm and just stopped today about 7 pm. We had Tornado warnings and watches all day!
No need to water for the next couple of days, I only hope that I don't lose any plants from all of it.

My Acitic lillies are opening up! I thinned out more plants yesterday and gave them to our company we had over the weekend. Giving more room for others to spread and thrive.
Don will do an ant treatment to the garden today. We saw lots of ants yesterday and want to nip them now before it's too late.
I took some pics Saturday of some of my plants and will post them soon.

I think I am going to have to rearrange my gardens! It seems that many of my plants are bigger than they should be. The ones I thought were tall or large seem to have "jumped" out from their place. Now I will have to dig them up and move them back some. Many of my smaller plants are "hiding" behind the larger ones. I have to spray for bugs. My poor rose bushes look like they are dying, leaves are all chewed up and bugs on many of the spent blooms, that I haven't gotten to. Don has to move the Cedar tree, it was suppose to be an "ornamental" small one but it is now over 5' tall. Have to thin many of of plants because of Snakes!! I am so scared of them, the neighbor killed a black snake just this morning running through the tree line. I'll try to get some new pics posted soon.

What color coreopsis have you got? I got a bright pinky one, rather 3 this year, since it is not yet spring, I can't wait.
We have been trying to keep bushes off the ground so we can see under them too, because we are not 100% sure there are not snakes here.

BR my coreopsis is also bright pink.
Well we got the gardens cleaned and thinned out. Most of it is dying off due to lack of rain this summer. But almost everything I have is a perennial so I'll get to see them again in the spring.
We still have to get some of the larger plants moved to new homes but that will come this weekend.

I can't wait to see my pink ones. I have only ever had yellow. I bought them on the net, so haven't actually seen any pink ones in real life.
Sounds like you are getting there.

Well, my garden is just about over here in the Upstate of SC, and with cooler temps coming in at night things are begining to turn brown and crunchy. I gave a good frined of ours a Black Elephant Ear plant and some Rose of Sharon on Friday. He wants some of my Green Elephnat ears and I told him he was welcome to them come Spring when the bulbs aren't mushy ;D We are trying to get a load of mulch brought in before the weather changes and we aren't able to do it. We have Asplundh Tree come in and dump a load every year. Hey it's free so why not. Don wants to rearrange the gardens come spring by putting all of the green on one side and having the colorful flowers in the largest area. He also wants to do them in rows so that the taller of them is in the back and then they cascade down to the ground covers (which he keeps pulling think it's a weed : So once he gets it all planned out the way he wants it, we will bring in more soil and mix in some great compost so that we have fertile soil this next growing season. I have asked for a small raised area for herbs. I would also like to do a small raised area in the front yard oh say about 2 ft high and have some low growers in there as well. I have a plant that I use to know what it was called but now can't for the life of me remember what it is, looks like a Black Eyed Susan but it grows on a bush that is as tall as my house is for some reason, I was under the impression that it only got about 3-5 ft tall. It is also just as wide! (about 4 ft)

Last of the Hostas are now gone, they turned black a few nights ago when it got cold. Elephant ears are starting to really bend over and lay down soon I will have to trim them back as well.
It's suppose to get down to 25°F here in the next couple days so I'm sure the rest of the flowers and plants will go dormant once this happens.
