*Tutorial* Yo-Yo Joining using the Net Stitch This tutorial shows you how to join Yo-Yo's together using the Net Stitch First you need to make 2 yo-yo's and crochet around 1 of them using a contrasting yarn in the following manner. Join main color with a sc in any dc, ch 3 (sc in the next dc, ch 3) 11 times. Join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off.You will have (12) ch 3 loops. Take a 2nd yo-yo and do the same thing. Second yo-yo: Join main color with a sc in any dc (ch 3, sc in the next dc) 9 times. Very Important! Note the way the instructions are written in the brackets, the reverse of the way they are written when crocheting around the 1st yo-yo. [/color] Ch 1, sc (inserting hook from the bottom) in any ch-3 sp on the first yo-yo. In this first picture I have crocheted around the 1st yo-yo using cream yarn, fastened it off and wove in my ends. I am now crocheting around the 2nd yo-yo using gold yarn and am at this point Join main color with a sc in any dc (ch 3, sc in the next dc) 9 times; ch 1. I have also inserted my hook under the ch-3 loop on the 1st yo-yo in preparation of making a sc. Note the position of your working yarn, it is to the right. If you have it going to the left you will create another loop as it automatically will wrap around your hook as you go to make the sc.

Now yarn over (yo) and pull through the ch-3 loop. 2 loops on the hook. Yarn over (yo) and pull through both loops on the hook. 1 loop remaning on the hook. Ch 1Sc in the next dc on the second yo-yo. In this pic I have done the ch 1 (actually done in the previous picture) and inserted my hook in the next dc on the second yo-yo. Once again note the postition of your working yarn, it is to the right. Yarn over (yo) and pull through the stitch. 2 loops on the hook. Yarn over (yo) and pull through both loops on the hook. 1 loop on the hook. Ch 1 Continuing second yo-yo: Ch 1 (done in the previous picture) sc in the next ch-3 space on the first yo-yo. In this picture I have done the Ch 1 and inserted my hook under the next ch-3 space on the 1st yo-yo. work a sc in that ch-3 space.

Continuing second yo-yo: Ch 1, sc in the next dc on the second yo-yo, ch 3: join with sl st to the first sc on the second yo-yo. Fasten off. In this picture I have completed the sc in the ch-3 space on the 1st yo-yo and done a ch 1. I have my hook inserted into the next dc on the second yo-yo in preparation of making a sc. Complete the sc in the second yo-yo. This is the ch 3 (makes your last ch-3 loop on the second yo-yo) , join with a sl st to the first sc on the second yo-yo. Fasten off. yo-yo's joined together. End of Tutorial If you have any questions, please post them in the Crocheting Tutorial Questions thread.
