Let's all post our ideas of how to decorate a little girls bedroom. I'll start.....
You could do a theme of the current favorite character, but I think they tend to out grow them too quickly and then you just have to change things all over again.....
Frist of all is the little girl a girly girl or a tomboy? That will help in making decisions.
Girly Girls:
I would start with a nice pastel color for paint.
You can get tulle inexpensively in any fabric store to make a canopy for over the bed.
Tomboys:
I would start with a medium shade of paint and only paint one wall that color, the other 3 a lighter shade of the chosen color or a contasting color.
You can then make a stensil of their favorite sport, I'll use soccer. Then stensil a soccer ball border around the room. Not too big but large enough to see or you could paint a goal post on one wall.
NEXT.....................

Girly Girl..I am better with that type of room.. Right now Lori and I are doing up a room at the farmhouse for LibbyAnna and Chaela.. Dh painted it Ballerina Pink...and Lori and I put up the wall paper border I showed you all at SG.
Lori want to do a shabby chic style for them. Should fit in nicely with the farmhouse ...
There is a little white old style door to the attic in that room. Hack painted it white and we put up stickies to match the border around that space. Lori has an antique church bench she is putting under that door where it is recessed to make a small reading area..
She picked up a green shabby chic shelf for the books. We are going for all the pastels in there..
Lori has an old chenille bedspread that she will make valances out of..
Will let her give you the rest of her ideas.. This will make for a cute girly girl room.
Next?? Good thread Deed..

I'll answer a year later ...
I did my girls room in bubblegum pink. I stamped butterflies, flowers and dragonflies randomly on the wall, and stenciled their names on the closet doors. Then I free hand painted Hello Kitty on one wall. Of course, they ended up getting bunk beds and now you can't see Kitty.....

For my dd the plan is lavender walls and a pink and purple girly theme. She wants purple curtains. Her lightswitch plate is puple with flowers and butterflies.
Not sure what I would do if she was a tomboy.....?

I love hello kitty stuff. My daughter got a hello kitty CD player for her birthday a few weeks ago. It is a very good machine I think. Very pretty.
