Anyone out there done the torn-paper faux suede technique? I'd like to hear/see how it turned out.

I have not done this, but I did see a little boys room done in a western theme. Below the wainscotting, the mom did the faux suede and it was so pretty. I would love to try it, but my dh would croak!

You can buy faux suede paint. Not sure how it works but I do know it isn't recommended for high traffic areas.

I have suede effects paint in part of our bedroom and on part of the kitchen and part of the second living area. I like it alot and the previous owner did it. It is a soft terracotta or orange and she has teamed it with a country yellow or sand color. I think there are two different yellows in the house, though it is very subtle.

Thanks ladies. I've seen the paint, but I am thinking of something someone told me involving torn brown craft paper and glaze- maybe this is a faux leather technique? I'm thinking of doing something above the wainscoting in my entry way. I want to make it more masculine- to hang my husbands golf pics/memorabilia.

Tamy, you are thinking of the Faux Leather technique, I wanted to do this in dh office last year but he thought it wouldn't come out right.

I have seen where you tear the tissue paper and put it on the walls. That is a good look also

Car I did that in my dining room and kitchen and now I need to re-do some of it because my cats have ripped the tissue in some places. It gives the "Plastered" look and I just love it!!

Yep the plastered look. I love all the faux finishes, but I worry that I may tire too easily of them so we only do regular paint jobs, and wall paper or border.
