Do you have just one style throughout your home or do you mix and match styles?
I like primitive country and have pieces throughout my home. I would be hard pressed to call it my decorating style though, because I tend to just decorate with whatever I like. I guess my style would have to be "eclectic" lol.
I would love to be as talented in home decorating as Carolyn. Her pics of her home are all so pretty.

I actually have several, my living room is done in French Country, my dining room and kitchen are done in Italian/ French Bistro, my Master bedroom and Bath are being done in Victorian colors and decor, Then we have a Music room which is pretty much self explanatory.
I am in the process of doing my DH office in Old World Library, with Cream colored walls, Heavy Red leather and Suede, Tapestry window coverings. Daniel's bathroom is done in Old World Nautical, and his bedroom well, is just Teenage Boy posters!

Aww, *Carolyn blushin* Thank you Kathy. I simply do what I love. I don't know that I could help anyone decorate with modern, or even contemporary. Although I did help my ds chose some items for his comtemp look. I prefer, country, primitive, antique and even junktique. And I prefer to think I have an eclectic home.
Master suite, is lavender, yellow with a touch of blue and green. I have most of my angel collection in there along with some primitive and even a touch of country. No real theme though.
My kitchen, dining room, and breakfast nook are all done in berry, navy, green with a touch of taupe and tan. These rooms house my Gingerbread collection. I would definitely say this room is primitive.
The living room ...the couch is plaid, with tones of berry, olive, and tan. The one chair is floral in the same colours, dh's recliner is tan solid. I have a bit of country in there but my new lamps and valances have beads on them. And I have some of my mom's leaded crystal pieces in there. So that mixes lots of styles.
The computer room is being re-done right now in Americana, definitely the primitive Americana. I will post more pictures when it is finished.
The guest bedroom is done in garden colours, mostly greens. Our comforter in there as well as our rug, and the wall border has leaves and ferns on them. Dh chose all of this. Very nice.
The guest bath, is French country in shades of yellow, blues and whites.
That's it for me

Wanted to add to Kathy, just buy what you like. Then mix it all together. And I have been collecting for 38 years so yes, I have a ton..LOL. And I like to display alot. Everyone asks me *who* dusts all of my treasures. I like my home to look lived in, and comfy and inviting.

My house itself is settler style. An Australian country I guess. The previous owner did the lounge in pink. I'll have a think and get back to you.

Everyone's homes sound so comfy and warm! Mine is done in what my mother calls pre-primitive country, can you tell she doesn't like my tastes? LOL We have med gray carpeting througout the entire house and almost every room has a shade of green in it. I'm in the process of changing most all the rooms. Still have to make shades/curtains, furniture throws etc.. for almost all the rooms, but I do have the fabrics. Now to find the time and ambition. LOL

late replying, as I just found this thread. Loved reading about everyone's homes. Sound beautiful to me.
Master bedroom is country french victorian, although I hope to change that soon. Warm earth tones, spice, sage green and gold. Master bath is white and green with chrome accents. Lots of wood tones in there also.
Living room - more earth tones, can you tell I like warm colors? Sofa and love seat are floral paprika, sage green, hunter green and creamy yellow. Big overstuff chair and ottoman in sage green. Low queen anne antique chair done in coordinating fabric. Oak end tables and entertainment center, formal window treatments in sand and white sheers. Oak bookcase holds some books, lots of family photos, candlestick collection, home interior collector pieces. I also love magnolias and have an old looking box type clock that has a magnolia painted on the face. Beside the book cabinet is my big overstuffed chair and next to that is a floor lamp, brown iron finish, topped with sage green satin stripe shade.
Kitchen is apples, shades of green and white. Green battenburg lace toppers on the windows.
Dining area is white, area rug under the table in shades of green, yellow, burgundy, cream. Long lace panels at the windows. Lots of greenery among some old pieces of furniture that I treasure.
Hall bathroom is white.....kinda stark. I want to paint it apple green and do whimsical frogs in there. The border is white, sky blue and shades of green. Too much fun! That's on my to do list.
Jeremy's room is done in the great outdoors theme. He loves hunting and fishing and that is definitely reflected in there.
Tyler loves Nascar, baseball and football. So his room is a mix of that.
Clay loves the GA Bulldogs. Red bedspread, black bed, all GA theme.
Now, the laundry is not done in anything, but I would like to paint it yellow and accent with sage and pumpkin, blues. I spend so much time back there, I would love to make it more cheerful.
We currently have carpeting thru out....beige sandstone, I think is the color. One day we want to take it out......yippeee that should cut down on the dusting! And install hardwood flooring thru out.
I'm always full of ideas re decorating and would do it nonstop if I could.

Eclectic, is that what you call it? I just like what I like. Right now the whole house is done in "moved 5 months ago and still have to unpack/put away some stuff". Lol. I wasn't really planning on doing any decorating until this winter anyway, then the shop happened so I've got alot of cleaning to do. I've got the kids motivated though. I told them we needed to get the living and dining rooms cleaned up so we could get the Christmas stuff out.

I love the idea of the sage and spice. That is my bathroom, but I am not familiar with the combination to get ideas. I had a moss green towel in there the other day and it looked nice.
We had a wood floor in our old house, and the dust still appears, fluff, have no idea from where.

I guess I'm pretty much like the rest of you...........if it feels comfy, cozy......or fun!... I have it! I always wanted to be an interior decorator but.........if I was asked to do extreme modern, well.........it would be hard for me. I guess I like doing what I like. I've got roosters, brown, green and gold in the kitchen "now"........it was red, pink and green 1950's soda shop this summer! My bathroom was lavender and white floral till last week..........now it is country lodge styled with browns, greens and very rustic. I used an old oar for a curtain rod over the window and made the valance with some dark brown print fabric, trimmed with a brown leather fringe and button holes across the top where I looped leather dog collars through them and hung the valance over the oar! Also put a Terry Redlin shower curtain in there with a beautiful outdoor sunset scene of a tent on the lakeshore with a canoe and trees etc. I put lots of fun stuff in there and had a ball! The livingroom and master are country antique. My guest room is totally Hawaii with a 6ft. lighted palm tree, fish nets and rope and shells and bamboo roll up shade. My computer room is Victorian with pink and poofy vallance and lace curtains and my doll collection.....and scrapbooking area. Antiques and family photos finish it off. I moved here from a much bigger house so I have tons of stuff to change off to whenever i get the notion. My hobby is "playing house"........and that is what I do with it..........PLAY! My friends tell me.........Phyllis!....you just have too much stuff in that storage area and you should get rid of it and clean it out to the walls. Well, those are my "toys" and I can't possibly do that!! Besides, I'm very good about putting my "toys" away when I take new ones out! Actually, I would have a ball if I had another dozen rooms to decorate!! I've always wanted a bed and breakfast and each room would be totally different with it's own special name on the door! Oh what fun that would be! So, like most of you.........I just put up what I like and don't worry about if it suits someone else or not...........besides, in 6 months it will probably all be different again anyway!

you gotta a deal, Ellise.
I want to do a country primitive look in there, I have a beautiful quilt for the bed. That is my inspiration piece.
Phyllis, your home sounds just lovely to me. I love trying different things also. *Fun* is a great theme too!
