While I don't own any, I have a soft spot for tiny things. I would find it very easy to spend way too much money if I had a doll's house. The link you posted, Br, had lots of cute things as well as those gorgeous books. I couldn't resist searching a bit, and found these tiny laundry items. I'd like to have those in a dolls house.

Me too! I'd love the whole lot! If you look around the site, you'll find the cream-colored Aga. It's gorgeous.

Oh, Elisa.
My weakness. I last saw one in a house in Flowerdale, from my Mum's description it may not have survived the fire.

If only the US dollar was closer in value to the A dollar, Br. Then I'd order just a couple of those tiny little kitchen and laundry things, including the Aga. My great, as yet unfulfilled, dream, is to have a kitchen big enough to fit my old table in the center, and with a cream-colored Aga in there. Sigh. edited to add: I avoid going to this place. It's not far from home, but is too irresistible. www.thedollhouse.com.au/online/

When I first moved here I think the $2 shop, actually that is not its real name but that is what I call it, had a doll house, but I think it was an American school house like Little House on the Prairie TV show. I wished I had bought it. We have a pine doll's house, my daughter doesn't use it but I don't have any fancy furniture really for her to use. And it is rather plain. I saw one at her sisters kindergarten that had been dressed up with some blankets from material we have from my husband's old work. But I didn't make any. I saw a real sewing box like the dollhouse one pictured on the link on ebay the other day, nearly bought it. My Mum had/has one. Maybe it is a way of explaining our history to our kids? My Mum had a mannequin too. www.thedollhouse.com.au/online/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=11

Those fold-out wooden sewing boxes are beautiful, Br. I've seen them in person only once or twice. I learned to sew on a treadle machine - how cute are the miniature ones?
Dd also had a pine doll's house, very simple and sturdy. I think dh's parents bought it for her. It was a terrific plaything for her, and she had years of fun with it. I reckon the really gorgeous ones with all the miniatures are for grown-ups, not kids. That will be my excuse if I ever buy one, anyway. ;D
