I realised today that crickets singing in the yard certainly helps.
Do you have certain decorating tricks to make your home feel like home?

I think all the family pictures on the wall makes my home feel like home. The kids see that they are important and that their grandparents and great grandparents are important too. Other than that I suppose it is the constant chaos of having kids!

Not really any decorating thing, but my hubby and cats make my home feel like home to me.

Oh boy do I have decorating tricks..I love to display doilys, afghans, quilts, sit around family photos, small momentos, gifts from others. I think other than family the key to making a house a home is decor. Just those special touches that makes it uniquely yours. I love scarves, pretty window treatments, and treasures sitting around. Pillows are great as well as throw rugs.
I love this thread. Let's hear more..

I think without these elements you are left with just a house.

Well, definately my hubby and kids, but as for decorating- little homemade touches! My kids framed artwork, things my dear mom has made for me. Projects like the curtains I stenciled with my Mom and the bathroom she helped me make "buggy" for the kids. I'ts all about stuff from the heart. I also love things with history- That;s why I love yard sales and flea markets so much!
