It was kind of a duckegg colour wasn't it?
What colour would you describe the bench top or counters?

They are a dark grey speckled color. I am thinking its supposed to look like granite. They are formica I believe.
With the dark cabinets and appliances and counters, I want something a little lighter on the walls.

I think a light neutral too. My neighbour has moved into a house with a similar kitchen and the walls there are a light cream with a little yellow through it (as opposed to red or beige) - it isn't yellow, it's just warm. Really brings out the color of the wood. I suppose you'll have to get a million little paint chips (what we call those little pieces of paper with the color on them) and hold them next to the cabinets until one looks just right. It will look great with something lighter. What fun!!

I'm thinking the Soft sagey green as well. I think it would really brighten up the room.
